Martin claims ECPC title

Troy Martin (pictured below) is the latest East Coast Poker Championship winner after prevailing over a field of 165 players in Southern Cross Poker’s marquee event at Diggers @ Newcastle City. Representing the Hunter Valley region, Martin defeated Scott Clark heads-up and with no deal made, Martin scooped the entire $10,000 first prize, while Clark took home $5000. Michael Blacktop placed third, for $3000.

Wakeman makes his move as bubble approaches
Play has reached the bubble in the East Coast Poker Championship with just two players of the 18 remaining set to miss out on a slice of almost $30,000 in prizemoney. Matt Wakeman has taken the chip lead ahead of Scott Clark, Peter Seckold, Troy Martin and Nick Poganovski as darkness falls over Diggers @ Newcastle City.
Region’s best stake their claim
The cream is starting to rise to the top at the business end of the East Coast Poker Championship Main Event with just 45 of the 165 starters still seated with the evening session underway at Diggers @ Newcastle City. Jason Loz is still among the chip leaders but he’s been joined near the top of the chip count by two of the region’s most consistent performers – Jim Psarros and Ben Kostrzewski.
Down to 56 in race for the title
Just 56 players remain in contention for Southerrn Cross Poker’s showpiece title – the East Coast Poker Championship title. After a tough afternoon of poker at Diggers @ Newcastle City, Jason Loz is still the man to catch having built his stack at the top of the chip count to 240,000 (his stack is pictured below). Matt Wakeman is also still grinding away and holds 55,000. Loz takes lead in ECPC
Jason Loz is the new chip leader in the East Coast Poker Championship as the antes start to pressure the shorter stacks leaving just over half of the 165 starters in contention for the title.

Miller makes an early move
The field has been confirmed at 165 players for the latest edition of the East Coast Poker Championship. The players will be battling for a share of a total prizepool of $29,700. The field has already been whittled down to 141 players, with Michael Miller (pictured below right) topping the chip count on 67,000.
Field heads north of 150; big names confirmed
More than 150 players have already taken their seats at Diggers @ Newcastle City on this mild afternoon, with the field featuring Matt MJW006 Wakeman and defending champ Graham Gillespie.
It’s great to see Wakeman supporting events like the ECPC. He recently cracked the global top 10 on PocketFives and is ranked Australia’s number one online player. But he’s only recently turned his attention from the virtual to live MTT circuit so experience in events like this is invaluable.
Diggin’ for ECPC gold at Diggers
Graham Gillespie pocketed a first prize of $10,000 when he took out the East Coast Poker Championship last November at Diggers @ Newcastle City. It was the biggest single-day poker event ever played in November, offering a prizepool of $31,000.

Bryn Kenney (born November 1, 1986) is an American professional poker player from Long Beach, New York.[1][2]
Poker career[edit]
Kenney played Magic: The Gathering competitively before transitioning to poker.[3] His first live cash was in 2007 at the East Coast Poker Championships.
Kenney won his first WSOP bracelet in 2014 after winning the $1,500 10-Game Mix Six Handed event, which earned him $153,220.[4]
In 2016, Kenney defeated 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event champion, Joe McKeehen heads-up at the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure $100K Super High Roller event winning $1,687,800.[5]
After placing 2nd to Aaron Zang in the £1,050,000 No-Limit Hold'em - Triton Million for Charity Event, Kenney received the largest single payout in live poker tournament history of £16,890,509 ($20,563,324).[6] The tournament had the largest scheduled single payout in poker tournament history with first place receiving £19,000,000 ($23,100,000). However, due to a prize splitting deal agreed with Zang, Kenney ended up receiving £16,890,509 ($20,563,324) for 2nd while Zang received the smaller prize of £13,779,491 ($16,775,820) for winning the tournament. The deal was made when the tournament entered heads up with Kenney holding an over 5:1 chip lead against Zang. Zang made a comeback and eventually won the tournament.[7][8]

Kenney is ranked 4th on the Global Poker Index and 1st on the Hendon Mob All-Time Money List as of August 3, 2019. As of August 2020, his live tournament winnings exceed $55,000,000.
